After teaching 20 years in a district that had 25 percent poverty and now has some schools with 100 percent poverty, it is time to pay attention to what is happening in eduction. Many people feel that unless it directly affects them, they do not need to worry. The problem is that poverty in education is a vicious cycle. It creates an environment with little hope and new teachers are not equipped to deal with the issues that face them!
